Every town or village has a café at the heart of the community and this is the very one in the Kingsway and Newton area. They offer affordable refreshments, drinks, and freshly cooked food for anyone who wishes to pay a visit. You are more than welcome to call in without purchasing anything - just come for a chat or to surf the internet (training available). There is also a kids area and the café is on the list of places recommended for breastfeeding by the National Childbirth Trust.
D’biz – Youth Club
Every Tuesday 3:30-5pm
D'biz is a community youth club that runs every Tuesday after school at Kingsway Cafe. It is aimed at local young people from all backgrounds, aged 11 to 16 (school years 6 to 11). The club provides a variety of supervised activities including games consoles, weekly competitions, board games, craft activities and table football. They also provide free toast and juice for members. The aim is for church volunteers to create free community youth provision, build relationships with local young people in a safe and fun environment – and be available if the young people come seeking support or advice.
TOGS (The Older Group) – Senior Group
Every Wednesday 3-4pm
Come down and join in with TOGS held every Wednesday from 3-4pm – they run keep fit classes, feature interesting guest speakers and have a stock of great board games, all accompanied by afternoon tea.
Prayer Requests
Run by St. Michaels’ church and Kingsway Chapel
Prayer requests leaflets are found on every table in the café. So if you have something you would like to put forward please do so.
Open Day
Third Friday of month
Once a month the doors are open to everyone to join in a fun day of snacks, games, training on computers and just a good old laugh!
Police surgeries and Local council surgery
Every few months we host police and council surgeries where residents can come in and discuss local issues.
